Legoland 2016 - Legoland Theme Park

we woke up pretty early. our room faced the theme park so the boys were super excited to start the day. we showered and went down to have breakfast. goodness gracious, the queue was horribly long! we gave our room number and waited, while the boys played with more legos, for it to be called out. it took roughly about 20 minutes - felt like 20 hours because i was so hungry! we sat at the back but it was near the buffet area. food wasn't all that great. it served its purpose - to feed hungry families - and that's about it. amira had her breakfast too, 2 servings in fact, she must be very hungry from the day before.

amira's stroller was sent by the airport staff while we were having breakfast so we're all set to start the day. we entered the theme park slightly after 10am. no queue at the entrance but there was a bit of a queue at the ticket counters. when we came here in 2012, we started with the right side of the park so we went in through the left side this time.

first up was the lego technic area. the boys went into the first ride, the technic twister. no queue there. the 5 of them, the boys and hubby, were the only ones on the ride.

then it was the aquazone wave racers. the queue was longer here and the ride wasn't all that great. akmal opted out of his ride. then it was the first roller coaster - project x - again sans akmal. slight queue for this ride, 5 minutes. i missed them coming down the slide and couldn't get that on video. the boys absolutely loved this ride, they would go on this ride again twice later in the day.

we took shelter from the hot sun as we went into the star wars mini land. i loved this showcase and would love to stay longer but the boys wanted rides, sigh…

then it was to the lego kingdom. amir, asyraf and hubby went on the dragon's apprentice roller coaster. the boys were not that excited to go on this ride initially, but hubby and i talked them into going on it. try, try…if not you'd regret not going on it. as expected they loved it and talked about going on the adult version of this ride - the dragon - the next time we're here. ariff and akmal were at the hideout at this time. this section of the park is really, really hot. amira was fussing and sweating.

then the boys went on the royal joust ride, twice!, and them the merlin's challenge. thank God there was a shaded area with fans for me and amira to wait at.

then it was lunch, at pizza mania in the imagination area. food is expensive and tasted so-so but the cold water and fizzy drinks and the aircond were so welcomed. we're already at the half-way mark (of the park and of the day) so there's not a long way to go.

after lunch, we went to the lego studios to catch a 4D movie. amira and i slept but the boys said it was funny. i don't even know what they were showing.

we then walked to the land of adventure. the queue for lost kingdom was long so we gave that a miss. amir and asyraf went on the beetle bounce, not enjoying that ride at all, and finally it was the dino island ride. akmal's first log ride. amira and i waited at the burger joint area next to it and we (or me) had a good view of them coming down. akmal was so happy he finally went on a log ride as his brothers have been talking about similar rides since their gold coast theme parks experience.

we then went to lego city as the boys wanted to go on the driving school ride. they stopped for a ride at the lego city airport mainly for akmal. it was quite a long wait at the driving school ride as the boys needed to be briefed because getting into their cars.

at this juncture, hubby and i contemplated on taking the boys into the water park or to spend the remaining time at the theme park. we decided to have an early dinner a bit of a distance from the theme park so we opted to stay in the park.

we went into the miniland. the boys didn't get the area at first but i got them to read the information at each structure and they finally understood and appreciated the effort and time it took to build each one.

we had a quick ride on the legoland express and once the train came to a stop the boys took off to the lego technic area for their second (and third) time on project x roller coaster.

we stopped at the big shop to get the pictures of the boys on the rides before making our way out of the theme park. kudos to us actually for not buying any lego or knick knacks in the park.

we went straight to the car and drove about 30 minutes to senibong for a seafood dinner. we sat right on the pier that faced singapore.

the early dinner meant we were early returning to the hotel. by 8.30pm we were already in our room and ready to wind down from the long, hot day at legoland theme park.
