our second day in penang started out a mix between hectic and calm. at 630am it was a bit hectic with hubby getting the two ready for their trip and getting amir's football gears together and grabbing their bought breakfast to be consumed during the journey. i went back to sleep and woke to extreme quiet and calm 2 hours after that. i woke ariff and akmal up to get some breakfast. breakfast with only two is an extremely relaxing affair.
after breakfast we went up to rest for a bit before changing into our beach wear for a hot morning on the sand. akmal forgot to bring along his bucket and shovel set so i had to get a new (really expensive) set at the hotel shop. they kept themselves occupied for almost two hours on the sand before complaining of the heat.
i intended to walk back to the room and switch on the air-cond at full speed but they stopped by the pool and jumped in instead. oh well, we had a couple of hours to spare anyway. so i let them run around for another hour or so before calling for time out.
we walked back to the room to take a quick shower and change before walking to the kids club, where they would be spending the rest of the day.
after sending them i had lunch and waited near the coffee shop, knowing they would be around for a snake show with the kids club soon.
i walked back to the room to catch some shows on the telly before hubby, amir and asyraf came home. amir's team finished quite early, having won all their games and making it to the semi-final rounds the next day. hubby had a massive migraine from the long drive and the traffic crawl and the heat and he opted to stay in and sleep while i took amir and asyraf for a dive in the pool till sunset.
we went back to the room and got ourselves ready for dinner before walking over to the kids club to pick ariff and akmal up. akmal was a super time. he loved the activities especially the snake show but ariff wasn't too fond of the club. i'm guessing he wasn't on his best behavior and got told off my the carers, probably. he was fast asleep when we got to the kids club while akmal was still playing with the friends he made during the day.
meanwhile, across the penang bridge, in the equally hot sun…
