Penang 2015 - Day Three

it took a bit of persuasion but hubby managed to coerce amir to leave the hotel and drive to the mainland to continue his football tournament. amir was a bit envious of his brothers' stories of the beach and pool and kids club while he had to bear the long journey and the long wait at the tournament. he was promised a short day, they would leave as soon as he finished his last game, and he had time to take part in the hotel's activities.

asyraf opted to stay with us this time so i took the three boys down to the beach to start the day. kids club was supposed to be on the schedule for today but ariff was not keen on spending another day there. it was also supposed to be an afternoon at the adventure land but i kept that option open, depending on the time hubby came back with amir. so for the morning, and early afternoon, it would be the beach and pool for the three boys.

they had so much fun under the sun that i could not persuade them to have lunch inside, instead we ordered pizza to be eaten by the pool.

after another 2-hour round in the pool, i took the boys up for a little nap while we waited for hubby and amir to wrap up their tournament across the bridge. hubby and amir came back late afternoon and joined us in the pool, scrapping the adventure land idea.

we were in the pool till sunset and the boys we all tanned and tired at the end of the day. we had a quick dinner at the almost empty coffee house, it seems most of the guests had left which is pretty good for us - the boys had rolls after rolls given to them by the very attentive wait staff.

on a side note, amir's team won the tournament and was crowned the under-10 champions. amir contributed tremendously to the win and scored 4 goals in 6 games. he did not stay to receive the trophy with the rest of his teammates and he wanted to spend the rest of the weekend with his family. a bit sad that he had to learn to balance his responsibilities to his team and his desire to be on a holiday with his family but such is life…
