Gold Coast 2014 - Day Seven

our third and final theme park in three consecutive days. i didn’t know what the selling points of dream world to the boys were. guess i could use shrek and madagascar but they weren’t too excited about them. we passed movie world on the way and the boys were a bit sad when the bus drove on.

the queue wasn’t too long at the entrance but it hasn’t opened for the day so we had to wait quite a while outside the park. once it opened and we walked in, i was kind of confused, trying to get my way around the map. some places weren’t opened yet and i had to re-plan our route and schedule.

we took the train around the park first and showed the boys the rides on offer for them to decide which is acceptable to them. once we got down, we went to the first ride, the rocky hollow log ride. they went up the ride twice as ariff missed the first one due to a toilet break.

then we went to take the thunder river rapid ride. they also went on it twice. its great to see the queue or lack of thereof as the boys could take the rides they like again and again.

two (times two) thrill rides out of the way, we made our way to the dreamworks experience where the boys went on every single ride on offer and stayed on to watch the madagascar show.

we stopped for a lunch break before walking to the wiggles world for more rides and zohor prayers.

we walked to the tiger island and the kung fu panda section of the park where the amir, asyraf and ariff went on the dragon bumper cars ride and akmal went to the panda academy.

we went back to have another go at the thunder river ride and the log ride before winding down with a 3D show at the dreamworld cinema. we finished the whole park slightly before 5, ample time to take a slow walk towards the bus stop to wait for our shuttle back to the apartment.

after we put down our things and performed maghrib prayers, we went back out for dinner. we’ve finished everything in the kitchen, leaving just enough for breakfast. we packed kebabs and pizza a few blocks away and bought some soveniours to bring home.

we had a poll on the theme parks visited for the boys. seaworld came out on top with 3 votes and movie world was second. they loved seeing all the animals normally seen just on telly – dolphins, sea lions, sharks – the shows and rides on offer. movie world was for all the characters and shows, especially the parade. and they absolutely loved dream world for all the rides they could take again and again.

absolutely tired and totally exhausted, it was wonderful to hear the boys talking about the theme parks to each other and see the smiles on their faces. those don’t take away my exhaustion but its all worth every sweat, scream and swear words.
