Gold Coast 2014 - Day One

finally, we’re off on our ten-year anniversary trip. i’ve been wanting to have this trip for ten years (those ‘one day i’ll come here with my children’ moments), i bought the tickets six months ago and have been planning ever since.

i was a bit skeptical with the flight time – leave in the morning, 8 hours onboard with four children who just woke up and are full of energy and are active. scary! but, Alhamdulillah, they were pretty ok, for the first 5 hours, at least. they were focused on their ipods and the movies shown and after having lunch, they fell asleep one by one.. when they woke they were full of energy that it got quite irritating.

due to the one hour delay in taking off,  we arrived in brisbane way after 8pm. that plus the time we spent getting local sim cards, we arrived at the apartment almost 11pm. it was quite easy getting our keys, even though reception was closed. they guided us via the phone on how to check in.

the apartment is spacious. with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen (with a rice cooker!), a laundry and a drier, a large living area, a large tv, a corner for dining. the hotel even set up a sofa bed in a room off the living area, which we wont be using but is grateful for.
*some pictures taken later for better lighting*

once we entered the apartment, we  got down to getting dinner delivered, then unpacking and putting away the clothes, bathing the boys and getting their jammies on.

our pizza arrived after midnight, they boys only finished a medium-sized margerita, before we shephered them into their rooms and retired after a long, tiring day.
