JB Singapore 2017 - Day One

there's no big overseas holiday for us this year. we've been so tied up with many, many school activities and with many, many activities on the home front. we got ourselves a new vehicle towards the end of the year and decided to have a quick drive-down-south holiday. hubby took 2 days off work to make it a four-day weekend for our trip.

we started our journey quite early on saturday. we woke up, had a quick roti canai breakfast and did two loads of laundry (laundry is a must so that we come back to empty laundry baskets). by 9am, we were in the car, switching on waze who notified us that our journey would take 3 hours & 40 minutes, with very limited traffic congestion. just nice for a lunchtime stop.

we went through 2 movies, naps here and there and had no tantrum, no fights, no meltdown and no cries along the way.

we stopped for lunch at a nasi padang restaurant, next to roslin beriani house, which my first choice for lunch but it was closed. the food was good, the gulai daging especially. then we drove to our hotel and got there at 2pm. check-in was quick but i was disappointed they were not able to give us connecting rooms, therefore we faced 4 days of the boys running from one room to another. honestly, we were not over the moon with the hotel. it needs a huge refurbishment, breakfast was so-so, the pool was huge but feels a bit dirty but the bed were nice and we slept really well.

as soon as we got to the rooms, the boys changed for a dip in the pool. we promised them pool time immediately to get it out of their system. also we didn't know how the next day would be like so let's pool first.

we swam for 3 hours before calling for time out as we had a bit of a journey for our seafood dinner. again, we chose senibong seafood, for the view and ambiance. the boys loved seeing the sunset over the straights and looking over to singapore.

tired from the journey and the swim and the heavy seafood dinner, we were back in our rooms by 8.30pm and spent the night in front of the telly.
