Japan 2016 - Disneyland

after the excitement of disneysea, i felt a bit more relaxed for disneyland. i was still excited, i mean, come on, its disneyland. but more calm and relaxed because we've been there, done that. the journey to disneyland was more familiar, the route was familiar, the surrounding was familiar and we didn't miss any bus this time.

we left earlier as we planned to have breakfast at mcdonald's. their mcd was quiet! i mean really quiet. it was a bit scary as we were so scared we'd get the death stare. but we were hungry and we gobbled up everything without the extra noise. after breakfast we crossed the main road towards the bus stop and took the bus to disneyland.

the bus stopped at maihama bus station, the main bus station for the disney parks. we took the monorail from the station to disneyland. it was nice to see tokyo bay finally. we would have been staying at sheraton grande if the exchange rate didn't force me to change our accommodation.

yes...its a picture of the 7 of us (asyraf was hiding in his hoodie)

we walked from the disneyland monorail station to the park. again there were long queues but mainly for the ticket booths. entrance turnstills were not crowded at all and we got in almost immediately. we walked through the world bazaar and i was itching to shop. i don't think i will though, but i really wanted to. our first stop was the monsters inc ride at tomorrowland. we took a fast pass that showed us our ride time. it was at 3pm! woah...almost a whole day. ok, so quick scheduling and we decided to go around the park, come back around the area for lunch and take the ride. sounds do-able.

we cut across the middle of the park in front of the sleeping beauty castle towards adventureland. we skipped rides that we took in california only to find asyraf's pirates of the caribbean ride was closed for maintenance.

we breezed through westernland, stopping to watch the first parade of the day - disney christmas stories at 10.40am. it was a pleasant surprise because i didn't even notice the time on the daily planner since parades weren't at the top of my list.

then we walked towards critter country to get the fast pass for splash mountain. wow...this one was the 5pm time frame! ok...so after monsters inc, we'll head back here and take the ride and then go home. so one round and a half.

we headed towards fantasyland and spent a great deal of time there. we took the its a small world ride first. then the boys went on the snow white adventure (with amira), alice's tea party and the castle carousel.

amira was a happy camper as she got to run around a bit while the abangs went on their rides.

then we went off to mickey's toon town where amira had her bottle break and diaper change while the boys enjoyed their caramel popcorn and a ride on gadget's go coaster. we also got to watch the second parade, happiness is here parade at 1.20pm. once the parade was over, we walked towards the front of the park, stopping for lunch at the plaza restaurant which was just opposite the monster's inc ride. after lunch the boys went on the ride while amira and i took shelter at the baby room nearby.

it was slowly starting to get dark and we walked back towards critter country for the splash mountain ride. there was still plenty of time, so boys went on two rides enroute - the grand circuit raceway at tomorrowland and (again) gadget's go coaster at mickey's toontown.

amira and i waited for the boys in the daylight and in the dark...

it was freezing cold and dark while ariff and i waited for the boys to go on the roller coaster fix at the splash mountain. akmal's brave enough to go on a big people ride, i'm so proud of him.

we walked back towards to entrance in the dark, although it was only 6pm. this was supposed to be shopping time but i was too knackered and too cold and we left disneyland without a single souveniour! i can't believe it, its so unlike me.

this time we didn't have to wait long for the bus back to urayasu station, less than 10 minutes before the 6.26pm bus came. most of us slept in the bus and we stopped by mcdonald's for dinner because we were too tired and too hungry to heat up dinner at home.

i think disneyland was more full than disneysea - full in terms of schedule. i'm guessing its the fast pass we took and the scheduling rides around the fast pass time and the back and forth to meet the schedule time. its pretty similar to the california disneyland, though wayyyy smaller but nice nonetheless. i'm actually glad we got to catch both parades even though we didn't plan on watching them. its really not christmas without disney christmas parade.

out of all the three disneylands we've been to, we managed to get really good pictures taken near sleeping beauty castle at tokyo disneyland. alhamdulillah, the weather was just beautiful. they are to be treasured.
