London 2015 - Day Two

the boys woke me up really early. they slept at 7pm the day before and had a long, 11-hour sleep to wake me up at 6am. first thing they wanted was breakfast. so its corn flakes and cold milk for them. hubby was still sleeping so i made myself eggs and toast. he continued to sleep for a couple of hours after we woke up so i managed to do a lot of things: speak to amir, prepared the boys' clothes for the day, unpack, township, so many things…

we general planned to do similar things for the next three days. walk around in london in the morning while we were still up and about, have a huge lunch and continue with shopping towards the later part of the day when we're starting to feel cold and tired.

on our first day, we had tower of london in our itinerary but first, we had to grab a winter jacket for ariff. we took the bus to marble arch, dropped in at mothercare, couldn't find one in ariff's size and moved across the street to primark. ariff found one he liked and we quickly took the central line from marble arch to bank.

we walked a bit to the tower of london, taking in the sights and sounds and every bit of the bitter cold london air. i loved it, the boys so-so, hubby totally not - for the weather, that is. for everything else, what's not to love about london. it was bittersweet though, lovely to be in this town again but wishing amir and asyraf were with us. we kept sending them pictures of the town and the boys and the four of us.

after around an hour of walking from bank to the tower of london, the boys felt they had enough and asked for a ride on the bus. they wanted to see the town but did not want the cold anymore. we took a bus right to trafalgar square and walked from there to piccadilly circus. hubby wanted a trip to lilywhites and the boys wanted food, so we settled for pizza hut right in front of the shop.

after lunch, the boys and i spent some time outside lilywhites while hubby was inside looking for items for amir and asyraf. once done we took the bus to oxford circus and walked to marble arch (actually i thought it was a bus right to marble arch but it terminated at oxford circus so we had to drag the boys all the way to marble arch in the rain - they grumbled, i closed my ears).

after a required stop at marks & spencer, mothercare, boots and primark, we took the bus back to bayswater road. i unpacked the purchases, let the boys watch telly for a bit and set out to get dinner. the boys were tired from the day before and were already sleeping but i woke ariff up and he accompanied me to the nearby taza to get some rice and kebab and mixed shawarma.

for the second night in a row, the boys were in bed before 8pm.
