on our second day in los angeles we took the hop-on-hop-off
bus. since we didn’t rent a car here, we thought this was the best way to see
things. we took the stop closest to the hotel at hollywood/highland. while waiting for the bus to depart, we took in the sights and sounds of hollywood blvd.
we took the red line to civic center and then switched to yellow line to the santa monica pier.

i read a bit on santa monica, some say its great, others
call it a tacky tourist site. but we’re tourists after all so bring me some
tacki-ness.
we stopped at broadway and walked towards santa monica place. we decided to spent a bit of time in there and i came out, unexpectedly, with some pandora charms.
then we crossed the road to seaside grill to get some kebab. oh yummy lunch in such a long time.
it’s a good place, santa monica. we liked it, to be honest, lots of things
to see, lots of things to do though we didn’t do much except walk around santa monica place, broadway and paradise park and let the boys run around a bit. they’ll be stuck on an airplane for a
couple of days soon so might as well let them jump around now. they actually
wanted to go on some of the rides on the pier – the roller coaster, the
dragon, the ferris wheel but it was $4 per person per ride. all-in-one tickets
are 20 odd bucks. so no way boys!
we walked back to broadway to take the yellow route back. i
wanted to take the bus at 3rd street promenade but the boys were not
really up to it. we took the yellow route, the boys sleeping the ride back away until we changed to the red route at civic centre.
i also wanted to stop at farmer’s market, while we were on
the bus but again, we didn’t as the boys were all tired and it was all getting
darker. we stayed on hollywood blvd for dinner and ice cream before slowly walked back to the hotel.
our last day in los angeles was a free and easy day. i dumped
some clothes in the washer and dryer before we walked to target on the corner of la brea and santa monica blvd. hubby had some things to get. i also got a few last minute things there.
we took the bus back to hollywood blvd for some last minute souvenir shopping and for lunch at hollywood & highland center.
