we left san diego after 3 days in the town. wish it was more
as we didn’t visit the pier and go over to coronado island or see san diego zoo
but i had to cut short the this part of the trip as hubby had no days off left.
we’ve taken domestic flights and the bus so from san diego
to los angeles we opted for the train. the fact that the tracks were right on
the coast added to that decision. our hotel in san diego was only a couple of
blocks away from the santa fe depot so we walked there, pulling our luggage
behind us.
after checking in our bags, we waited at the station for
about an hour before the call to board. the train was a bit behind schedule and we left after midday.
the ride was good. seats were spacious, wifi (just) slightly stronger than on luxbus,
café and restroom were only a cart away. we didn’t mind if the ride was longer,
actually, but it was only 2 and a half hours ride before we were in union
station, los angeles.
i really liked the view we had on the way to los angeles. we saw the beach, the sea, small towns, open road, nice houses. i would really, really love to come back here, insyaAllah.
union station is quite nice. i like the long waiting area. we
took a taxi to our hotel as we had bags and abgs to lug.
this is the final pit stop on our california adventure. it’s a nice, big room
with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed so everyone had their own place. there was a
small kitchenette and eating area.
there’s a couple of food outlet in front of
the shop as we’ve finished all the instant curries we brought from home so we crossed the street to get pasta and pizza for dinner.
