Gold Coast 2014 - Day Five

my favourite of all the theme parks – seaworld. I absolutely love seaworld, i’ve been to the one in san diego, which is totally wow, and the one in gold coast a couple of times.

out of all the three theme parks, the boys ask about this the most – maybe its easier to identify with dolphins, sharks and sea lions as main attractions. movie world is more of justice leaguers when they are avengers followers, and dreamworld…well, they certainly don’t watch the wiggles! not to say they are not looking forward to the parks but seaworld is more talked about.

we had a cereal breakfast before going down to outrigger to wait for the shuttle. it arrived on the dot at 945am and we got to seaworld around opening time at 10am. the queue was long but fast. we had a vip pass which gave us entrance to seaworld, movieworld and wet’n’wild world and was asked to convert our printout to vip passes on our way out.

our first stop was the penguin encounter then we proceeded to the monorail main station. i wanted a bird’s eye view of the park for the boys to see. we took the monorail to the mid station, close enough for the first show of the day, the dolphin show.

when we got down we visited the shark bay first as we had a bit of time to see sharks and sting rays. akmal was screaming the whole time, he wanted to bring back a shark more than a kangaroo or a koala.

we moved on to get good seats at the dolphin show. the boys cant believe dolphins were right in front of their eyes, swimming around the cove, waiting to meet the audience. they had a wonderful 20 minutes being so up close with six dolphins.

we slowly walked towards the centre of the park, stopping by the little penguin point and ray reef to see more dolphins and sting rays. by this time the boys were asking about roller coasters, so we first took them to the beach break bay for a couple of kiddie rides before hubby, amir, asyraf and ariff went on to take the viking’s revenge flume ride.

we stopped for a sandwich and chips lunch before i took akmal aside to take photo with dora.

then we watched the fish detective lion show followed by dora’s best friends adventure show. by this time akmal was in seventh heaven. first dolphins, then sea lions and then, dora and boots! what more can he ask for!!

we walked back up the park to catch the sponge bob 3D show before taking the skyway back to the entrance. the ride stopped halfway to let us enjoy the overview of the park before we exit. the boys saw dolphins and the sea lions and the viking ride.

we stopped to make our vip pass and got some souveniors and picture taken at the seaworld sign before taking the bus home.

hubby and i were mentally and physically tired, he just prepared a simple indomie dinner with ice cream and grapes for dessert.
