we had a visit to lok kawi wildlife park on the schedule and i was worried about the heat so near to midday. the drive to the park took almost an hour, i kept thinking, maybe we should have cancelled the outing.
but when we got there, it wasn't too bad. yes, i was sweating bucket loads but the park was clean (for visitors, maybe not so for the occupants), it was shaded except for a few areas and it was windy. not too bad. the boys loved seeing wild animals up-close, elephants, tigers, sun bears, ostriches, deers, orangutan (singular), otters, many kinds of monkeys and birds. amir was a bit upset we didn't go into the reptile house but we just could find it, somehow. we followed the signs but couldn't find the area.
on the way back we were supposed to have lunch in town but everyone were still full from breakfast so we decided to drive back. on the 45-minutes journey back, we started to get hungry so we stopped by midway back to the hotel.
when we got to the room it started raining heavily so we had to cancel the pool time and stay indoors. the boys looked bored being indoors so we decided to take them to town for dinner. the waterfront was packed with cars and people so we drove a bit further to jesselton point. we had dinner at a nasi padang outlet.
at this time akmal was sporting a high fever so we went to a kpj specialist centre about 10minutes away. the doctor was horrible though and kept raising her voice to akmal who had butterflies in his tummies seeing an unfamiliar hospital and crying. he had fever and flu but the doctor kept asking about his tummy. i just wanted paracetamol, antamin and voltaren but because the doctor was raising her voice, not getting through to akmal, i carried him and left. they even have ear thermometer and said his temp was (yeah right!) 38c. he was all red in the face, it was more like 39c thank you!
we got pcm from the hotel doctor and i had to wear the nurse's hat at 3am to sponge him down.
