Japan 2016 - Karuizawa & Tokyo

our overnight in karuizawa felt really short. its a peaceful town and really very beautiful. wish we could stay longer and could explore more. we woke up early, i woke up earlier than everyone else because amira's foot was on my face.

we showered and went for breakfast. glad i didn't have to make breakfast for once but there wasn't much to eat at the hotel. the boys had rice with miso soup, hubby and i had their version of scrambled eggs and some chopped veggies they called salad. and toasts. we finished all the bread they served. we were hungry and the spread wasn't much to begin with.

we went back up, packed whatever we had lying around and checked out. we crossed the station to the outlet and got a storage for the large and small bags. we pulled the mid-sized one. we went to the other side of the outlet to puma, old navy, new balance, levi's and other shops but we only shopped at old navy. this is not a shopping trip unlike the california trip and i'm glad we stick to our plans.

the snow park near the station (behind the boys) which was not snowing

on the way back to the station, we passed by the food section of the outlet and bought pastries at delifrance which we ate at the station.

we didn't have to wait long for our 2.30pm train. before we knew it, we were back in tokyo.

our apartment in tokyo is close to kanda station, which is one stop from tokyo station using the jr line (jr pass doing its duty again). from the station it was a mere 2-3 minute walk. the apartment was small but cozy. the bedroom had 2 double beds and 1 extra bed and could fit all 7 of us. the storage was huge but we didnt unpack anything as its only a one night's stay.

we were in the apartment a short while before we went out again, this time by foot to akihabara. that part of the town is brightly lit and full of people. we went round the area from yodobashi to the gundam cafe, spending around a couple of hours in akihabara. the boys were giggling non-stop at the girls in maid uniform. then we crossed the stream and walked back to kanda.

we had a treat by bang brahim for dinner that night. i think the light lunch and the walking around plus the cold weather made us crave for some nasi goreng and lauks.
