London - Day 2

the day started not according to plan. the weather forecast said it would rain. not a good idea to take the hop-on-hop-off bus in that condition. we waited and discussed what to do - go down to oxford street for a shopping cum shelter from the rain options or take the tour bus as planned. we opted for the latter so we started walking towards edgware road station (to take the bakerloo line to picadilly circus).

after a block, rain started falling so we adjusted, turned around and headed down to oxford street. amir and asyraf complained of the walking they had to do so mothercare was the first store on the list - we had to get 2 buggy boards for them. got them, paid for them, but when hubby wanted to install them, we found out some assemblying would be required. ingatkan bukak and clip on je. so we went back into mothercare and got a sales assistant to help - help give us a screwdriver je since they cant provide any labour assistance. so hubby rolled up his sleeves and got down to business. after 30 minutes of cursing and swearing, we went out with 2 boys on the stroller and 2 on the buggy board, and the much-needed diapers.

we walked down the road, running in and out of some random shops to avoid the rain before coming up to marks & spencer. ariff and akmal slept so hubby and i decided to get some munchies and hot drinks. evil m&s made the basement cafe next to the boys' section, so our desserts were new pajamas and undies for the boys. i wanted to get much more but tak tahan lah. there's just so many people!

the next 'shelter' was selfridges. not on my list, honestly. going inside i know why. everything too branded and expensive. but we went up to the 4th floor to see the toys for christmas. went out with some for the boys who were really great the whole day, being cold and tired. we walked back to crawford street from selfridges, stopping by the local grocer to get some halal meat for dinner.

the boys entertained themselves with the new toys while i cooked. i opened the window so that the apartment doesnt smell of sauteed garlic and onions and heard amir shouting 'snow...snow'. sure enough the weather forecast was right...it was snowing! and so the day ended beautifully...
