London - Day 16

the day didnt start the way we planned. it was supposed to be: leave the house at 9:30am, off to primark and marks & sparks for me and lilywhites for hubby then meet up at marble arch to take the 94 bus to queensborough terrace for lunch at malaysia hall. the only thing that materialised was the lunch, and we didnt even take the bus there, we took a taxi.

the morning was filled with us hanging around, hubby cooking breakfast of sunny side up, salami and toast and feeding corn flakes to the boys and me starting to pack. we didnt leave the house at 9:30am as planned, we werent even out of the bedroom at that time. everyone woke up late, maybe because we were just too tired from the 3-day trip.

we left around 11:30am for bayswater. on our final day in london, we finally made an appointment to meet uncle zuhuri, who was my guardian when i was studying here from 94 to 97, and his family. i was very close to them. i was at their house literally every weekend and during spring and summer breaks. i used to babysit (or the term should be 'look after') uncle zuhuri & auntie noridah's 4 girls when they go out for their midnight drinks. we were at malaysia hall for 2 hours before we realised we were hogging the place.

then we took the 94 bus to picadilly circus as hubby wanted to have a look at jerseys they have on offer there. then we walked towards regent street as i wanted to see what they have in body shop. not a bad visit - i came out with 4 shower gels and 3 lip balms for just 18 quid. ish so cheap! then we boarded the bus again to go back to marble arch - hubby wanted to get some souveniours and i just had to go in to primark. 3 pounds 50 p for a working shirt - a bargain!

then we walked back to crawford street as i needed to finish packing. it was a stressful then stressless then stressful again when i realised we could not fit what we brought and what we bought over the 16 days of being here in the 2 suitcases we brought and the 1 we bought. we probably need to buy another backpack and wrap our suitcases real tight at the airport tomorrow.

dinner was simple maggi cooked by hubby to finish up the stock of maggi we brought. he also prepared the last 2 cans of sardines for us to have for breakfast tomorrow.

so that's our trip to london, the one we spent a year planning. over in a blink of an eye. i wonder what i'll have to look forward to at home after the trip we had.
