today's itinerary includes a visit to madame tussauds and then a detour to oxford street before making our way back home. our apartment is just 10 minutes walk to madame tussauds, so going to oxford street would take us further away from the apartment but i just have to go into primark so, like it or not, we're detouring.
we're pretty early this time around, left the house on time at 930am and got to baker street way before the schedule time per our internet booking. i had a feeling we'll be asked to leave the strollers and i was right. it wasnt that difficult actually. well, carrying akmal izzat wasnt easy what more with the other 3 boys running around among the crowd and of course, having to control the camera. but it wasnt that difficult - kira boleh lah nak manage.
the first stop was the a-list stars...we managed to get quite a bit of photos. then it was andy warhoul - nothing much for us. followed by the movie stars, the sports personalities, the royalties, the players in the music industries and the global leaders. we actually went through those quite fast. we shoved our way around, left the boys in the middle of each area to entertain themselves and took photos of those we like. everything quick, fast and easy.
then we went on the the london black cab for a tour of london over the years. that was great. the boys enjoyed the ride. before we ended, there were the marvel comic stars. but best of all, was the 4D show of the comic stars. the boys absolutely loved the show and wanted seconds and thirds.
we managed to take home a couple of shots from madame tussauds together with fridge magnets and key chains. love those, a set each for hubby and me!
we stopped by mcdonalds a short walk from baker street station for lunch. akmal izzat was sleeping so it was easy to eat and drink and it was also before the lunch time crowd were let loose. then it was a short 10-minutes walk to oxford street, stopping by marks & spencer (again!) and primark (finally!).
as soon as i finished in primark, maria called to say she was at bond street station so we waited about 5 minutes for her arrival. i havent seen maria in ages. she's a good friend from my ernst & young days, we were the only 2 malays in corporate finance. she and her hubby, hafiz have been here for almost 5 years (kan maria?). we had drinks at pret a manger before maria followed us home to witness how the four terrorists were like at home.
the next two days will be spent at home since london town will shut down for christmas but happy tis what we are...
